Combining Danielle's offerings of nutrition, whole-foods cooking, and herbal medicine making, with Angela's offerings of learning to navigate your mind, break old patterns, and  deeply connect with the natural world, this retreat is a true combination of holistic healing. Danielle and Angela look so forward to the opportunity to weave their work together in offer of a take on wellness that has been long overdue. With four workshops, two morning Forest Yoga sessions with the incredible Cali Leola Simpson, ceremonial evening fires, 7 local, organic, plant-based meals, camping, and deep connection with new sisters. We invite you to a restorative, inspiring, educational, and expansive 3 days.

The Herbal First Aid Certification Course is a 2-day adjunct to GEM's 5-Day Wilderness First Responder (WFR) course. After the 5 day WFR, join in on a 2-day, action-packed herbal course in wilderness first aid education aimed at preparing students to successfully rely on plant medicine- using plants found in the local ecosystem as well as self-prepared herbal medicine from around the world- to safely navigate backcountry terrain. Topics covered include herbal medicine making, creating herbal first-aid kits, botanical identification in the field, education on medicinal plants in the local ecosystem, and a combination of classroom and hands-on learning. This course is co-taught by Danielle Ryan, Registered Herbalist through the American Herbalists Guild with extensive client-care, foraging experience, herbal-medicine background, and wilderness experience- with Gavin Dawson, Wilderness EMT and Emergency Room Technician, a lead instructor with Wilderness Medical Associates for over 5 years and founder/CEO of Global Emergency Medics who has significant clinical patient care and backcountry experience. This incredible duo will guide you through an exciting, hands-on, practical course merging the worlds of herbalism with emergency medicine to best prepare the student for all expeditions, no matter how far off grid.
